streaming audio using audio codec shield

Postby taino1967 » Wed Jan 23, 2013 5:46 am

My interest is to use the audio codec shield to stream audio over serial or ethernet. I have an arduino uno and an ethernet shield. I would like to know if anyone has tried this before and can share any sample code for arduino. Thank's

do you know which pins the ethernet shield uses? the codecshield uses the spi and i2c lines. another thing to keep in mind, is that 16b, stereo, 44ksps is 1.4Mbps data transfer rate. this is right at the limit of what the uart can do.

I have the arduino uno and the arduino ethernet shield with the W5100 chip.
The control pins are the following:
pin 10--SS----Selects the ethernet chip
pin 11--MOSI
pin 12--MISO
pin 13--SCK
pin 4-- Selects the SD card reader

so it does use the spi lines. thats too bad. the main thing the codecshield uses is the spi lines, and it is pretty much running them full throttle. so it doesnt look like it will work. there might be some workaround using the uart as spi master, but that is pretty complicated. perhaps 2 arduinos could do it.

cool, will do. i will also add in the clobber list at the end of the asm calls. its something i forgot to do on the first library i wrote, which is probably the one you ended up grabbing. basically, it tells the compiler which registers the assembly calls are using, so that they can be handled correctly in interrupts and such.
